Anxiety

Your mind is a Fascist dictator.

Every morning, you wake up with your heart racing. You feel overwhelmed and haven’t even gotten out of bed yet. Already, your mind’s off to the races.

Life is way too hard most of the time. You feel overwhelmed most days by your ‘to-do’ list; worrying about what others must think of you; fearing you’ll have no friends if you don’t get yourself together, lose your job, and other calamities.

And then what? The thought of being alone is crippling. “What if I lose my job? What if I can’t pay bills? What if?”

You’re spiraling again. “Get your $%& together,” you berate yourself.

Fear rules the day.

You’ve tried everything – avoiding people, opting out of things, distracting yourself, using positive thinking strategies, and even having a glass of wine during the day to calm you down.

Still, you worry. You envision one catastrophe after another. You need to prepare for every possible thing that might happen. It’s exhausting.

Nothing you try works. You can’t get rid of all the scary thoughts you’re having. And even when you do, it doesn’t last.

Your world is shrinking.

You don’t know what to do anymore.

It seems easier to stay at home. Sure, it’s lonely, but at least you won’t say stupid things you shouldn’t or embarrass yourself somehow.

What would your friends think if they knew how much you struggled?

It’s time to drop the struggle.

You’re not lazy and have done everything you can to get rid of your anxiety.

There’s good news ahead. Instead of fighting with those challenging emotions or your negative self-judgments, we will do something radically different.

Are you ready?

Learn to lean into your life.

We’ll work together to develop the necessary skills, allowing you to handle your challenging thoughts and feelings more effectively so they don’t create havoc in your life.

Then, we’ll examine what’s meaningful to you, what you care about, and the type of person you’d like to be. Using this guide, we’ll set goals and change your behavior to bring you to that rich and rewarding life.

Through worksheets, mindfulness exercises, and lots of in-session practice, you’ll learn how to “unhook” from what your mind is telling you, accept the things you can’t control, and lean into what’s essential in your life.

Stop fighting those anxiety monsters.

It’s time to stop waging war with yourself. You can’t win this battle.

Suffering isn’t the answer.

There’s a much better alternative.

Are you ready? If so, I am a phone call away.
